Reimagining the way we buy meat, one box at a time
We connect curious eaters with real farmers and help farmers thrive by selling direct to the people who care.
Connecting people to British farmers
Founded by Jack Saunders in 2025, Box to Belly was born from a simple belief: people deserve direct access to high-quality British meat, and farmers deserve to sell straight to those who value their work.
Jack’s journey began at 12, volunteering on a local dairy farm, and grew through years learning the craft of farming, butchery, and livestock procurement.
At 23, driven by a desire to build something of his own and strengthen the link between farm and fork, he created Box to Belly, hand-selecting every animal himself to deliver that quality and care directly to your kitchen.
Every box reflects genuine farm-to-fork transparency, nose-to-tail butchery, and a connection to the British farmers who raise animals with integrity. We believe premium meat should be more than a product, it should be an experience, thoughtfully curated and responsibly sourced.
By choosing Box to Belly, you’re not just buying meat, you’re supporting traditional farming, celebrating the whole animal, and enjoying the very best that British farms have to offer.
Bringing the farm to the forefront
Box to Belly shows people where their food comes from, who raised it, how it’s farmed, and what makes it taste the way it does. We believe great British farming deserves a stronger voice and a better route to market.
Our mission is simple: to connect people who care about their food with outstanding, ethically raised meat, sold directly from trusted British farms.
Box to Belly is still in early days, but our ambition is clear: a national, farmer-led platform where the best meat boxes in Britain can be discovered, all in one place.
Looking ahead, we want to champion farmers who produce more than meat - from craft cheeses and cider to sparkling wine and other farm-made goods. Any direct-to-consumer British produce made with care and passion deserves the same recognition, connection, and route to people who value it.
Whether you love good food or care about supporting farmers, you’re in the right place. So, join me in a glass of wine and enjoy as we explore the farms, the produce, and everything that makes British food so special.
Although Box to Belly was established in 2025, our connection to butchery runs deep. Jack's great grandad Henry rented a butcher’s shop in the 1930s. In 1938, he bought the shop along with the house and yard when he married Jack's great grandma Amelia, back in the days when livestock were walked from farm or market to the slaughterhouse.
When Henry was called up during the war, Amelia ran the shop with remarkable skill and determination. She handled every aspect of the butchery herself, with only a little help lifting carcases to the block. After he returned, they continued running the business together until 1966, building it up through local deliveries and 'hawking' meat door-to-door to nearby villages.
That dedication, craftsmanship, and deep connection to the people who eat our food is the heritage we carry forward at Box to Belly today.
